A keen sportsman in his youth, Steve took the choice to develop a career in technology when it became clear that attributes other than keenness would be required to become a professional footballer.

In over 25 years in the payments technology industry Steve has worked with some of the world’s leading and most innovative payments suppliers. During that time he has held international leadership roles at ACI and NCR, as well as UK based roles at ICL/Fujitsu and Rank Xerox. At ACI he led the EMEA team that delivered growth in revenues from $30 million to $185 million per annum and delivered solutions to the world’s foremost banks and financial institutions.

Steve also has experience of global start-ups and consulting. He formed a global start-up JV with a French technology supplier and has also consulted for an international on-line foreign exchange brokerage and a number of smaller technology businesses from Europe and the US.

Retaining a strong interest in sport, though these days as a spectator, he enjoys time in the gym as well as time spent with his family, travel, theatre and music.

Adrian Bevington

With over 20 years as an executive within the football industry, Adrian has extensive contacts within the UK and internationally.

He worked with Middlesbrough FC as a media officer in the EPL during the mid-90s. During his time at the club he experienced a stadium move, promotions, relegation, cup finals and record international signings before moving to The Football Association in 1997.

Initially starting his career with the National Governing Body as a media officer, he rapidly moved through the ranks to Director of Communications in 2004.

In 2010 he was appointed as Managing Director of a newly created 'England' division within the organisation, with executive lead responsibilities for all operational and performance services. In addition he also resumed an executive lead communications role in 2011.

He has worked at five World Cups and three European Championships, been directly involved in the recruitment of England managers and coaches, and worked alongside numerous Chairman, CEO's, and Coaches.

Adrian is highly regarded for his extensive experience, strong relationships within football and commercial organisations, broadcasters and written media, added to his contacts and detailed global knowledge of the industry.

In 2014 he left The FA and recently launched his own sports consultancy business. Adrian is also a regular broadcast commentator on football and sporting news.

When John Motson began his Match of the Day commentary on a top PL match with “Today’s referee, David Elleray, is probably the country’s most famous schoolmaster” he encapsulated the two strands of David’s distinguished intertwined sport and education careers.

  • Over 40 years successfully combining top level work in sport and education; the only clash was in 1998 when he declined refereeing in the FIFA World Cup finals in France as he was a candidate for the Headmastership of Harrow
  • Schoolmaster at Harrow School for 32 years: coaching sport, Head of Geography, House Master (18 years) and Director of Boarding (9 years)
  • England’s top football referee: 17 years at the highest level and 8 years as an international referee; refereed the FA Cup final and international finals in Europe, Africa, Asia and S. America
  • Member of the FA Council since 2002; Chairman of FA Referees’ Committee
  • Works extensively for the FA, UEFA, FIFA and IFAB (International body responsible for the Laws of the Football worldwide)
  • Closely involved with governance and integrity as Vice Chairman of the Football Regulatory Authority and Chairman of the Compliance Monitoring Group

Keith Oliver OBE

Keith Oliver has been a practising private client solicitor since qualifying in 1977 and ran his own boutique legal business for an 18 year period.

He has been a Governor of Fettes College in Edinburgh since 2006 and sits on the Executive Board. He represents the Governors on the school's consultative committees with teaching and non teaching staff.Keith has been appointed clerk to the governors of Fettes with effect from September 2015.

Keith has been a director of the Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools (AGBIS) since 2013 .

A particular interest is cricket, and his services to the sport earned him an OBE in 2014 . Keith has been Chairman of Cricket Scotland since 2002 and was a member of the International Cricket Council Executive Board from 2010-2014, during which time he sat on the ICC Nominations and Governance Committees.

Keith received an OBE in the 2014 New Years Honours List for his services to cricket.

Gareth Rees QC

Gareth spent over thirty years at the independent Bar before his appointment in 2012 as Executive Counsel at the Financial Reporting Council with responsibility for investigations and prosecutions for misconduct by Auditors, Accountants and Actuaries in matters which affect the UK public interest. At the Bar Gareth took silk in 2003 and his practice was in corporate and financial regulatory, criminal and disciplinary issues.

Gareth played first class rugby with Headingley, Harlequins and represented Middlesex and now sits on the RFU Disciplinary panel. He is a member of the MCC and Queens Park Rangers FC.

He is a Trustee of the Middlesex Sports Foundation.

Patrick has been a tax adviser, first as a solicitor and now as a barrister for over thirty years. Included within his wide practice is an expertise in sports-related tax. He was lead counsel in the ground-breaking case of Agassi involving international sportspersons and sponsorship and he has represented some of the biggest sports personalities and their clubs throughout his career.

He has been a member of Richmond (Rugby) Football Club for over twenty years where he is a director. Previously, he coached young Richmond teams, taking them to three finals at Twickenham and watching them win matches all over the world.
